Leopards, AmaZulu share the points

Black Leopards and AmaZulu shared the spoils in their Absa Premiership match at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday night, with the teams playing to a 1-1 draw.

The match was the first in charge for new Usuthu boss Craig Rosslee and he will have been relatively satisfied with a draw away to a Lidoda Duvha team who have been in decent form of late.

The home side came into the game having secured two wins from their last three league matches, including a 2-1 triumph away to University of Pretoria last time out, while the visitors from Durban had lost two of their last three games.

Leopards took control of the first half but had to wait until the 39th minute to make their advantage pay, as Mahlatse Maake found the back of the net and ensured the hosts went into the break 1-0 up.

However, just ten minutes into the second half, an own goal from Leopards goalkeeper Ayanda Mtshali saw AmaZulu level the game at 1-1.

Both sides created chances in what remained of the match, but neither was able to take full advantage and claim all three points on offer.

AmaZulu’s next match is at home to Bidvest Wits on Saturday evening, while Leopards are away to Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.
